| Further in-depth interviews about QOL were carried out 12-18 months later with a subsmple of 80 of the 999 participants in the QOL Survey. They were purposely sampled, using a quota matrix based on respondents' sociodemographic characteristics and health status, QOL ratings, and region and residence.
48% (480) were female and 52% male (519).
62% (624) were aged 65-74, 38% were aged >=75.
