 Study criteria for participants: a) weekly pain level over 20 on scale 0 (= no pain) to 100 (= pain as bad as can be); b) not involved in health litigation; c) with romantic partner; d) diagnosed after 1988. Recruitments means: fliers at physicians and public locations, newspaper ads, senior citizens groups, arthritis groups, mailings to Arthritis Foundation. 332 Participants screened; 124 participants in study.
