 The children ranged in age from 33 to 158 month.( Median age: 6 year 2 month) The length of hospitalization raged from 32 to 197 days.(Median: 88 days) These children were patients in laminar airflow isolation units designed to reduce the risk of bactarial infection during intensive chemotherapy, and subjects in a clinical research study at Chidrens Hospital of Los angeles testing the medical efficacy of protective isolation. All children were informed about their diagnosis
